Marine reservist marrying a soon to be Officer

My girl friend is a Marine reservists and I am a Marine Option Midshipmen in NROTC. To legally get married, do we have to tie the knot before i go attend OCS or get commisioned. There is a 9 month differences between the two. Is it at all possible to get married after I get commisioned if i show proof of our plans?

Re: Marine reservist marrying a soon to be Officer

You would eliminate all possibility of Marine Corps intervention in your private life by getting married sometime before your commissioning date. Waiting until after that date would create some vulnerability to allegations of fraternization. But marriage is a fundamental right, which you can lawfully exercise anytime.
