I AM IN THE PROCESS OF PURCHASING A FORECLOSED PROPERTY. I need a lawyer to help me. The proeprty could be damaged I am I responsible if the property can not be repaired? There is also a deed in lieu should I fail to make a payment in 90 days property will revert to lender which is owners relative. Could this be a scam? Please help. I will pay for online advice. Foward copies of the mortgage note etc. Thanks

Getting a lawyer is a good idea. Purchasing a property entails a lot of risk. The good new is if you use due diligence you can eliminate much of the risk.

There are a number of things to check so that you don't end up buying someone else problems.

That said you would be better off contacting an attorney in your area. There was no zip code with this question so I have no idea where you or the property are.
