Renewing a Money Judgement

Can you please tell me what is the statue of limitations for renewing a money judgement. I was given a $10K money judgement in 1998 and have tried to recover the money;however, the person filed bankruptcy. Can I renew the judgement?

If the judgment was against an individual and the individual listed the judgment in the bankruptcy, it was most likely discharged. That means that you cannot collect on it and renewing the judgment would be a violation of the discharge injunction in bankruptcy.
