if someone is 17 turning 18 in 1 month and has sex with a 15 year old can they have any charges pressed against them or get into any kind of trouble

You asked about underage sex.

You know all the arguments about sex and teenagers already so I'll skip them. You should also look at previous answers on this board about underage sex.

Generally, persons under the age of 18 may only have intimate contact with persons who are no more than two years (730 days) older than they are. In other words, the math you described means that until the younger person in the relationship turns 18 there should be no intimate contact. Seriously. Once the older person turns 18 this is a very serious, life altering crime that the adult can and will be prosecuted for.

If you don't like the law, get it changed. But ignore that law at your peril. Better get used to cuddling and become master of your domain.
