Legal Question in Tax Law in Pennsylvania

taxes

For the past five years my husband has not paid local taxes. I want to pay but I am not sure that the locality is even aware of it. If we pay if off what kind of penalities are we looking at.

Re: taxes

The penalties depend on which municipality you are in. Some areas even have criminal penalties as well as civil penalties!

The important thing is that the locality hasn't done anything - YET. They will, eventually, but because you're not yet on their radar, so-to-speak, you have an opportunity to settle the issue relatively easily.

Unlike IRS issues, many local cases can be resolved quickly and easily, and you may even be able to settle with them for less than the full amount, or to make installment payments.

Our firm represents individuals in all areas of taxation, from federal to local. Please feel free to contact us for a free, confidential consultation, or visit us on the web at www.americastaxlawyers.com for more information.

Re: taxes

This all depends on which municipality/town/city you are talking about.
