Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania

traffic tickets

Dear Sir or Madame

a cop issues you a ticket and you dont sign it, he just writes '' issued to defendant''. would i have a case if i went to court and fought it? He asked me if i knew why i was pulled over and i said i thought i was speeding. does this equal an admission of guilt?

Thank you

Re: traffic tickets

Are you asking if you refuse to sign a ticket, then can you get it dismissed? The answer is: of course not. If that were the case, then no one would sign a ticket ever. It really doesn't matter if you said you thought you were speeding or not. After all, if you said you had no idea why you were pulled over, do you really think that would affect your liability? What really matters is how he clocked you.

Re: traffic tickets

It doesn't matter if you sign it or not. And, they still have to prove you were speeding for you to be convicted.
