Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

title transfer of deceased person in PA

I received a truck from my deceased brothers estate and gave it to another brother. Title has not been transferred because my signature as executrix is required. If her kills someone, does property damage or gets a DUI will I be responsible as the legal owner of that truck?

Liability of the owner of a vehicle is possible depending on the circumstances.

It is not clear why you have not executed and filed the documents to transfer title.

Good luck to you.

Once you transfer legal title to the other brother, your deceased brother's

estate will no longer be the legal owner of the vehicle but rather the other brother will be and therefore he would be responsible for any and all mishaps which may occur. You, as executor of the estate, would never have any responsibility for this kind of liability matter.
