Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania

My daughter got hurt at work today and first-aid was not available. She told another superviser -- she is a lower superviser (herself). They sent her home, but did not take her for medical attention, which looking at the ankle -- I believe she needs. Will the hospital bill the Employer's Work Comp? She doesn't have insurance right now. We are in PA.

If she was hurt at work she is entitled to worker's comp, which includes payment of med bills. Under WC med bills are paid at the rate of 110% of the Medicare allowance. She can go for treatment where ever she wants, unless the employer posted in a prominent location a list of 7 medical facilities where injured employees must go for treatment, & followed other procedures, which would require her to go to 1 of those facilities. She should make sure the employer completes a form entitled Report of Occupational Injury, & turns the matter over to its WC insurer, unless it is self-insured. Bottom line- she should get whatever treatment is needed & tell the hosp & doctors it's a work injury. Good luck!
