question on 1st offence in sc

I am wondering if a 17 yr.old arressted as an adult can speak for himself in court and if he may be facing jail time?

Yes. If a 17 year old is arrested and appears in court, then that person most certainly can speak for themselves. As far as jail, I have no idea. What is the charge?
