Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

My husband and I got married like a month before he left to do 10 months in prison... We have been married for 5 1/2 months. I thought that this was what I wanted to do but I am now having second thoughts. He is not the person, I thought I married. He has had cases of infidelity in our relationship, multiple cases of domestic violence in the home before he left, he is controlling... I mean the list goes on!!! I am 21 years old and I have dreams and ambitions I want to accomplish. I just feel like I may have rushed into this, especially with him. We do not share anything together... no house, no car, no bank accounts- NOTHING!!! I just want to know how can I get out of it???

You will most likely be looking at having to pursue either a legal separation or divorce, as annulments are very difficult to obtain in SC. If you do not have any / many financial issues, then your case should not be overly complicated or expensive.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.

If you need more information, you can visit my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.SpartanburgLawyers.com). I wish you the best of luck.
