Re: Monetary compensation in a Divorce.

Yes, its called Alienation of Affection. It is an extremely difficult law suit to win on. Millions of marriages fail every year. Many many of those sposes from the failed marriages find someone else before the divorce becomes final. Juries understand that life goes on. Plus, usually when someone commits adultery, theres reasons for it other than just the paramore. It appears that most people who try and sue are just doing so because they are mad and are seeking revenge. Juries feel that the hurt person should be focusing on getting on with their life, rather than bringing a law suit. Not to mention that suing won't cure the broken marriage.
