Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Question about child support

I would like to find out if I have a chance of making my son's father help me pay for a pecial school for reading. My son has ADD and is only on a 1st grade level in reading and has failed some grades already. His father has not seen him in 8 years and wants nothing to do with him, he also refuses to help me pay anything, he says he already pays childsupport of 50 dollars a week and that is all I am getting out of him, Can I make him help me pay for this or is it a waste of my time????

Thanks--name removed--

Re: Question about child support

The answer to your question depends on your income and debts, and his income and debts, which I don't know. However, I can tell you that if the numbers are right, the family court is usually very willing to order a spouse to help pay for special schooling for children
