auto accident liability

If my son drove a friends car with his permission and the friend in the car and they were in an single car accident, no injuries but friend had only liablity coverage will my comprehensive collision pay for the cars damage?

I assume that your asking if YOUR policy will pay for the damage to the car that your son was driving? Or are you asking if it will pay for the damage that was done to the other car that was in the accident? Its a little unclear with the wording of your question. There is a thing called UIM, which is Under Insured Motorist Coverage. I can't tell from your question if you have it or not. Its not mandatory and the insurance companies are required by law to offer it to people who purchase auto insurance. Probably the easiest thing to do is to call your insurance agent. He/she can tell you.
