Legal Question in Employment Law in South Carolina

Termination after giving notice - still paid?

I recently gave my 2 week notice and I was terminated that same day. The company I worked for was based out of Virginia, but I was employed in South Carolina.

Am I due the 2 weeks' pay? Also, they did accept my 2 week resignation, there was no dispute.

Re: Termination after giving notice - still paid?

South Carolina Employees are governed by the payment of wages act which states that wages due shall be paid after termination, provided the employer has more than five (5) employees. If the employer has no valid reason for not paying you your wages, then the employer could be subject to treble the wages and attorney fees.
