What is the right amount of compensation?
I was involved in a car accident where my car was hit from behind and sandwiched into another car in front of me. The car who hit me was at fault. I went by ambulance to the hospital and nothing was found to be long lasting. I just missed three days of work and two weekend days recovering. The hospital bills for the emergency room and ambulance for me and my daughter were almost 14,ooo.
What would be a fair settlement? The amount they paid for my car made me cry but it was the market price.

To answer your question without knowing much more information would be doing you a great disservice. Each case is different, and no matter how much the insurance companies try, cases are not determined solely by the amount of property damage and medical bills.
If you are trying to settle your case without having an experienced personal injury attorney on your side, you are making a mistake and are most likely taking money out of your own pocket. If you do have an attorney, he or she would be the best person to advise you of the value of your case, since he/she will know all of the pertinent facts.

This is not an easy answer. The amount of compensation can vary from case to case. Just remember, the insurance company will try to settle the case for as little as possible. The numbers don't add up right. You said that you and your daughter were checked out at the hospital and are okay. If that is so, then I don't understand why your bills would be $14,000. Are you sure that is the correct amount?
