Legal Question in Personal Injury in South Carolina

Legal Definition of ''Lost Wages''

I was in an auto accident. I turned in ''lost wages'' (time I missed from work due to medical appointments, not disability) to the adjuster in the case. The adjuster claims that lost wages can only be claimed if I am physically unable to attend work because of the injury. Is she correct? Or does SC law back up my thoughts on lost wages?

Re: Legal Definition of ''Lost Wages''

She is wrong. Lost wages are any wages that are lost as a direct result of the accident, including going to the doctor to be treated for injuries sustained in the accident. She is only trying to take advantage of you because you do not have a lawyer and therefore she knows that you do not have the same ability to file suit as a lawyer does.
