Legal Question in Traffic Law in South Carolina

How long can cops wait?

I was going about 54 in a 35, which I agree is a little too fast. I then passed the cop going around 40ish. He then proceeded to follow me through another intersection before actually pulling me over. My question is how long in South Carolina can a police officer wait to pull you over?

There is not set period of time. Technically, they could come to your house the next day and give you a ticket. The law doesn't spell out a time frame for how quickly they pull you over. The ticket you recieved however qualifies to have points reduced. Your welcome to call or email for adivse if you want. Robert Johnston [email protected]
