Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in South Carolina

My mother passed away in January. My car loan was in my name. She told me before she passed away that the loan would be paid off at her death. So when we did not receive a bill, we assumed it was. When I inquired as to how to obtain the car title from the car company, I was informed that the debt was still outstanding. She did not leave an executor of the estate. I sent them a copy of my mother's death certificate as they requested and have done everything they asked. They came on Tuesday and repossessed the car. It was supposed to be paid off in November (Ive been paying on it for almost 6 years). They said for me to pay the outstanding amount and get back in touch with them. I did and called them back.. They have since refused to give me back the car because its in my mother's name. We need our vehicle. Paid almost $15K on it and now I am told that they are seizing it. What can I do legally to get my car back?

You need to go to the DMV with your certificate from the probate court and the death certificate and get the car put into your name. Then you can get your car back.
