Legal Question in Intellectual Property in South Dakota

We are starting an online business. We are producing "educational" videos that customers would pay a monthly fee to see 2 new videos per week. I've done some research online and I don't see anybody else doing this concept with the type of product we are "educating".

My question is, how do I protect this idea so no other business can imitate our concept.

The short answer is, you can't protect a business idea like this, except as a trade secret. That is, you don't tell anyone and try to keep it a secret. Problem is, once you start the business and others see or find out about it, the cat is out of the bag and the idea is free for all. Consult with an intellectual property attorney in your area.
