Legal Question in Personal Injury in South Dakota

I am in personal injury case. Oher driver at fault. Occured in May 02. Already high medical costs incurred. Am on SSI. Doctors now think may be dystonia. My lawyer withdrew. Wanted to settle case at 30,000. I would receive around 15,000. I feel settlement not fair. Will have lifetime injuries. Sought other lawyer. No luck, till I had one who agreed to take case without going thru file, basically sight unseen. He did not want to discuss case. Only wanted me to sign agreement with him. Never heard of lawyer taking on case without first researching background. Basically said, I agreed to take your case, take it or leave it. Hestiant to do so. Should I be concerned about this?
