Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Tennessee

expungement

i have three cases dating feb. of 1972, in East Ridge Tennessee. They have no records of the disposition of the cases and refuse to expunge them. All they have is copys of the arrests. they showed up on a background check and cost me a job. I've been ttrying to resolve the matter for eight years. The cases were dismised, I never posted bond, and wsas never to return to court.

Re: expungement

There is no right to expungement, but if the cases were dismissed, then there is nothing to expunge.

Records of arrests are generally not expunge-able, because they are public records of the activities of the police department.
