Secret taping in classrooms

Are any student or teacher rights violated by one students secretly taping classroom conversations?

No, there is no law against taping person-to-person conversations.

Although, the USE to which the tape is put may violate a right (such as posting it on the internet with the intent to cause embarrassment or humiliation).
