Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Tennessee

Small claims

Is there a statute of limitations on small claims? I stupidly lent money to an old boyfriend, as well as to a girlfriend, both of whom have not paid me back. At this point, both relationships have deteriorated, not due to the money, but I'd like to try to get my money back.

Re: Small claims

Normally it is six years but it can also depend on the amount of the debt too. For instance some types of agreements to lend money mmust be in writing or they are not enforceable. Is your in writing? If you don't have any evidence that you lent the money, you may be out of luck.
