Legal Question in Criminal Law in Tennessee

shoplifting../frist crim /immigrant .

i was cought shop lifting . it is my frist crime . i have a date on sep 11 ..my lawer said that i was going to get booked .i am an immigrant in this country .i was reading a the news papper . it said that the police reports every immigrant to the fedral immigration when the immigrant gets booked ....i am very worried what happens next???????????pls answer my question.

Your questions should be addressed to your lawyer. There may be some immigration issues that arise from a conviction of a crime of dishonesty.

You should be careful when you ask questions. You said that you were �caught� shoplifting, but what you meant to say is that you have been �accused� of shoplifting. You have not been convicted of shoplifting. Address your questions regarding your immigration concerns to your lawyer.
