Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Child and Spousal Support 94% of income????????

I am 45 yrs old, my ex wife is 36, 3 children, 6,5,2 1/2. Pendelite support was set @ 4500.00 (child and temp spousal).I have netted 56000.00 YTD. I do have a residence, I'm staying w/a friend, no legal transportation for kids (3 car seats). Final hearing yesterday, ex awarded 4490.00 (child/rehabilitive spousal), cobra for her 320.00, 3 yrs to refinance house, spousal support goes down each yr for 4yrs 2500.00,1800.00,1500.00,500.00. Has 4 years to get a job, she doesn;t want to work, told her attorney that. The judge awarded her 94% of my income. And when questioned said I should stop contributing to 401K, of which I haven't in 3 months. I can't live on $250.00 a month and if I could add the 401K that would only be 750.00 a month. We are appealing, but it could take up to a year, and by that time I will be in jail. To complicate matters, I am employed with the airline industry, and the way we are paid is difficult at best to understand, been before the court twice, and judge still doesn't understand, even with charts graphs and spreadsheets......Please.........Any suggestions???????

This is a very bad result, unless there is more that you have not shared. There is a process to request a stay of execution pending appeal, but since this is a support issue, it is going to be tough. Ask your lawyer about the stay procedure and the likelihood of success.
