Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

custody problems

Me andmy ex-boyfriend have a 2 month old child. He signed a paper at the hospital stateing he was the father. But we a splet up and he is going to have visitation.His mother is on drugs bad and everyone in his family knows this and agrees it is not safe to leave the baby with her. So can i state in our arrangments that i don't want my child left with her at all for no reason and if he does can i do something about it??? I will be able to prove she is not fit to take care of him?

You can put nearly anything in an agreement that you and the father agree to, whether you would be able to persuade a just to order that if you two do not come to an agreement is another matter. TRY to address things by agreement -- it is easier, quicker, far less expensive, and reduces stree and conflict between you and the other parent. If you have an agreement which gets approved by a court and made an Order of the court and he violates it, you can go back to court to charge him with contempt of court and to have changes made in the order to address the problem.
