legal liability

bounty hunter shot me while working in concert with police. i am not the man they were looking for. can sheriff dept. / county be held liable for my serious injuries?

The answer is, "it depends." Your specific question is about the county so i will tell you that there are statutes removing immunity from suit for certain types of actions against the county and this may be one of them. There are also Civil Rights statutes that allow recovery for certain types of actions against municipalities. There may be other causes of action available to you.
