Tenn. lawyer won't refund

Hi, I paid a local attorney $800. for a trespass case that was dismissed. Then I paid her an additional $1,200. to sue that same person for damages to personal property. Now that person is deceased and as far as I know nothing was ever done on the damage case. Shouldn't I be entitled to a refund?

I've left 6 messages in the last 3 weeks and no return call.

Please advise, thanks!

It depends mostly on your agreement with the attorney. If you were paying her hourly and not based on any type of contingency and she put in the hours, you may not be entitled to anything. Review your agreement with your attorney.
