Legal Question in Personal Injury in Tennessee

Settlement

I was involved in a MVA 4-29-00 caused by another driver. My back was injured due to the accident and since then I have had 2 back surgeries and still having severe pain in my back and leg(iliotibial band in my leg is inflamed due to lack of bone growth). I am wearing a bone stimulator and will need to wear it 4 months. My attorney called on 2-8-02 with an offer from the insurance company of $75,ooo which I refused. My attorney has asked for $300,000 not only due to my injuries but also lost wages. I tried to go back to work and did work for 3 months and couldn't due to the severe pain caused by the walking my job required. I therefore had to resign from a position and company that I thoroughly injoyed. I was an active person and I now feel like an invalid. My attorney wants to get together with the adjuster to mediate my case with him. I have never been though something like this and don't know what a fair settlement would be. I would like to be prepared when I do speck with the adjuster. What would you say is a fair settlement?
