Rights of a website owner?

I am a moderator on a non-commercial, non-profit tech website. We have recently had a situation with a member which is causing problems on the site, however the actions have taken place off the site. Are there legal reprecussions to banning a member for actions which damage the morale of the site?

There should be no problem banning a user for off site conduct that has a negative effect on the site itself, since users post there by permission not by right.
