Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Authorized User obligations

I have been listed as an ''authorized user'' on a Home Depot credit card. Home Depot automatically listed this on my credit reports. I have never used the card. Now that person has stopped paying on the card and is in default. What are my obligations? Will this hurt my credit? Can they make me responsible for paying the debt? I did not ask to be put on the card as an authorized user. Can anyone just do that?

Re: Authorized User obligations

I can't give you a firm answer without seeing the contract with Home Depot, but unless you signed something chances are you will not be held responsible in any way for the charges.
