Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

company waited two years to bill me for services

It's been almost two years since I

attended physical therapy. I paid

my copayments for my insurance

at every visit. Today, I received a

phone call for the first time from

this company stating that I had an

outstanding balance of over

$2000. They said I had exceeded

my insurance pay-out limit, and

had to pay for their services out of

pocket. They said they tried to

contact me by mail at an old

address. I never received notice

by mail or phone- and my phone

number has not changed since I

accepted their services. Is there

any time limit to when a company

can call and say you owe them

money? Do I have any rights

considering that had they

informed me of my insurance's

lack of payment, I would not have

continued to accept their services?

Thank you,

Re: company waited two years to bill me for services

There is a 4 Statute of Limitations to file lawsuit to collect a debt, but there is no limit to mismanagement and poor customer service.
