Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

contempt of court

In divorce proceedings my ex-husband was awarded a pick up truck for which I was the PRIMARY lender on the loan for the vehicle, because I had the higher income. He was ordered to continue payments, and agreed. However, he did not and the vehicle was reposssed. the mortage company says the debt is MY responsibility, as the agreement was betwwen myself and the lender, and any further agreement is between me and the court re: divorce proceedings. They are now threatening to attach a lein on my property (homestead) to collect for the difference in the amount owed and the amount received for the auto at auction. Is this possible, and how can I make my ex accountable as was ordered and agreed?

Re: contempt of court

Talk to your divorce lawyer..if the ex has no money..you are out of luck...talk to the lender and arrange payment..etc..
