Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Impact of roommate's nsf checks

About 10 months ago, we allowed a down on his luck friend to move in with us. Of course he uses our address and telephone number. Recently he's had several returned (nsf) checks. Can this in any way have a negative impact on my husband and I since he lives in our home?

Your friend may be prosecuted for the hot checks, but only he personally is responsible.

Eventually you will be pestered by bill collectors looking for your friend since he has your address and phone number shown as his. And if he has access to your personal information, he may use your credit even though he's presently a friend.
