Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I took out a a TV, DVD player and Laptop through conns. I was making my payment on time as they were scheduled to be taken from my bank card( with a visa logo) unitl May 2009. I went to a party, where my personal info may have been looked at. I called and canceled all of my accounts, with all of the accounts that were set up on auto pay I called to let them know. I called Conns on a Sunday, I told them that since the bank didn't operate that day I would have a new card for them to run on monday, so the girl told me "Okay your payment method has been canceled please call back when you get your new bank info" they ran the OLD card anyway, turns out they also ran an "ACH" charge off of a check I had once turned in, but of course it was linked to the old account and was denied. at this point I was let go from my job and no longer could afford anything. They hounded me for months, leaving me outlandish voicemails, threatening to come pick up the items which I never denied them that they just alway hung up on me. I finally offered to pay with new checking( as I have overdraft protection and could assure payment that way) they refuse as I'm labeled bad ck writer for the incident that I stated above. so I gave them NEW bank card # ( same bank and visa logo just new card) they now keep calling me saying it's not a valid card and want another card!!!! Over the phone I offered to pay cash @ the store and the girl stated " We will NOT accept that as we can NOT guarrantee you will go. I don't know what to do.... they keep calling from all types of #s private, 1800s, as well as local and surrounding counties. I only work part time and go to school. I want to pay but when all they'll take it CC they really aren't leaving me much room. What can I do

If you want to pay the debt and only have cash then go to the store and pay the cash, when you do that you could try to setup the draft with the new bank card. You may find that it is easier to deal with a store clerk than a debt collector.

Good Luck!
