Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I had an employee accuse me of improper actions toward her in the State of Texas. I live in North Carolina and two months after the accusation a detective called and said he was issuing an arrest warrant for Attempted Sexual Assault. I contacted an attorney and went to Texas and turned myself in on the warrant two days after the detective call and bailed out on a 100,000 bond. It cost me 15,000. I was told that I would get a hearing and that they would probably get the amount of the bond reduced. Nothing happend for over a month and no case was filed. Then I received another call saying that a new warrant was issued. I talked to my attorney who is working on finding what it is but he thought they were setting a new warrant for a lesser charge. So does the first arrest go away? Do I get that money back? I mean this feels like a shakedown to get money. How can they arrest me, make me pay this huge sum of money then redo it adn I have to pay again?

You need to be asking your attorney these questions.

If you are not comfortable with your lawyer you should consider retaining a different lawyer, your lawyer should be well qualified to handle sexual assault charges.
