Question about process of criminal law
If someone files charges against child sexual abuse and the perpertrater threatens to kill himself and is taken to a mental institution, will the police still arrest him in the institution or has he gotten away with his crime?

going to the mental institution does not mean he has gotten away with his crime. They will probably wait to charge him until after he gets out. They could wait years before they charge him.
