Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I was recently watching a friends house i had one of four keys to said house, i did have a lapse of judgement and had friends come over and chill with me sat night. Sun i and the oldest daughter woke up late and for the first time all weekend decided to go out. both seperate places. i locked up, she left after me. Four hours later im getting histeric calls about their firearms and weed stolen. i did not even know that i was sitting for a house with drugs in it. I did not let anyone in to take anything but because i did the night before they are pressing charges on me and my friends. We all have nothing to do with their guns and have nothing to hide. My question is what should i be doing and what should i expect i.e. searches for stolen property ?

You are legally responsible for any thefts from the house because you were given the key and you allowed people into the house without permission. Problem for them is - are they really going to tell the cops that they had weed and guns in the house? HIGHLY doubtful. If the owners call you, record them talking about the weed and guns. The police will be VERY interested in hearing that should the idiots decide to report the theft.

In the future, don't accept house sitting if you cannot follow the rules.
