Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Texas

racial discrmination

Hi. About 2 weeks i went job hunting with my cousin. We saw a now hiring apply with in sign at payless. so we went inside. the store manager is hispanic and im african american. so i asked her are you hiring she said umm, umm, umm no not at the time but we are taking applications. i know that she was lying. she had to think of something to say. i do feel discriminated. i emailed payless shoe source after this incident happened and they never responded. so i was wondering if i have a case or not. please help me.

I don't see a case here. You would have had to be able to prove that immediately thereafter someone else of a different ethnic background asked the same question and was asked in for an interview. Simply being lied to,--or your gut feeling that you were lied to, is not enough to establish racial discrimination.
