Legal Question in DUI Law in Texas

On probation for DWI

I have been placed on probation for 1 year after entering a no contest plea to DWI.. I have an ignition interlock device. My parole officer called me yesterday to inform me that I warrent has been issued for my arrest because I ''tested positive for alcohol''. I do not understand this considering, when I met him last week, all was fine. I have never been in trouble before with the authorities and my only arrest was quite unsettiling since I has no prior knowledge of what was happening. I would greatly appreciate any advice.

Re: On probation for DWI

Once on probation, your life comes under the watchful eye of your probation officer and judge who placed you on probation. Typical conditions of a DWI probation would be to abstain from the consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages. If the probation department had proof that your interlock device registered alcohol, they could have reason to believe you consumed alcohol in violation of your probation.

Most importantly, do not talk with your probation officer about the facts of this case. Everything you say will be used against you in court later. Contact a qualified criminal defense lawyer to help you navigate these dangerous waters. Call someone now.
