Can a 17 year old move out of their house without their parents forcing them to stay?

At 17 in the State of Texas you are still considered a minor for civil purposes. Therefore, you technically cannot move out without their permission.

For criminal purposes, you are an adult.

What will the police, constable and sheriff do? You can call them & ask them. Each office might have a different policy. I don't know what your local offices will do.
