Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child possession

My ex is trying to tell me he talked to an attorney and that 'for a little money we can go back to court and have his new wifes name added to our decree and it would give her the same rights as he has'. I think he is full of it and he is just up to his same old games. He is a master manipulator and this sounds like that to me. I have researched as much as I could about 'stepparent rights' etc to find an answer and so far I believe he is a liar and that stepparents have no rights to my kids and there is no judge that is going to give her rights. Please clarify this for me. Thank you so much.

Re: Child possession

If you agree to it, then it can easily be done.

I assume that you don't want to give her any rights.

You can always try to call his bluff and tell him to file!

It would depend on the judge.

You will defintely need an atty. if he files to modify.
