Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Support

I live in Texas, I am divorced and have 2 children ages 14 yrs. and 19 yrs. My 19 yr old graduated from high school in May 2003, joined the U.S. Marine Corp in June 2003. He recently got a medical discharge and has returned back home. I'm not sure if he is going to live with me, his father, or on his own. He is currently looking for a job and is planning to go to college in the fall. My 14 yr old lives with me and my ex-husband currently pays child support. If my 19 yr decides to live with my ex-husband will I have to pay him child support? Or what will happen?

Thank you,

Re: Child Support

The court will not order child support after the child's 18th birthday, unless he is still in high school or had "special needs" before he turned 18.

Re: Child Support

When a child turns 18, he is considered an adult.

There is no child support for an adult.

Good luck!
