Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Support

My partner has two kids that have been living with us for some time now. He has even asked his ex-wife if she can give him full custody. She has said no. But I don't think it's fair that she is getting the child support money if he has them living there. How can we prove to the court that he is suppling them with food, clothes which the mother has yet to buy them, entertainment, etc...and she is spending their money on herself? If you can't anwser please refer me to someone who can. Thank you so much.

Re: Child Support

I need more details, but if the children have been living with you and your partner, then your partner may want to get a modification to the divorce decree and seek custody of the children. If you live in the Dallas - Fort Worth area, please feel free to call me at 817-763-0600.

Re: Child Support

You prove the purchase of clothing with receipts. You seek custody and the termination of his child support obligation by filing a new petition and seeking a new order modifying the existing orders. You should hire an attorney, who after hearing all the facts, will advise you on whether you may want to wait a few months.
