Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I haven't been in my children's life for 4 years due to drugs. I don't have cousidity of my children but I never lost my rights. I have successfully completed drug programs and parenting. I want to see my children every other weekend but my mother will not let me. How should I handle this situation should I file child support on myself and do it that away or what should I do?

Do not go the TX A G office route. They only care about collecting child support. They don't care about visitation.

I highly recommend that you hire a private attorney.

You need to move slowly and regain her trust and your children's trust.

You need to start the visits slowly. A private attorney can help you with these graduated visits.

I would also encourage you to seek mediation. A trained mediator can work with your ex's trust issues. A private attorney will know mediators in your area.

Good luck. Congratulations on getting clean. Your kids need you so stay clean & sober.
