Unfortunately there is no simple answer to your question.

I might suggest you contact a woman's shelter and see if they can assist you. Many shelters provide housing, training and employment placement.

Most communitites offer free legal assistance.

You might try a law school in your area. Most have legal clinics that assist low income people for free. You also need to call or email the State Bar of Texas in Austin, Texas for a listing of non-profit legal agencies in your area.

Depending on how long you were married and how much money your husband makes, you might be entitled to temporary spousal support during the time the divorce is pending and up to 3 years after the divorce is granted. This money for training in order for you to get a job.

If your family owns more than one vehicle, then you will probably get one of the vehicles in the divorce. If there is a loan on the vehicle, you would probably assume the debt on the vehicle.

Best of luck to you.

I offer a free telephone consultation if you live in the Houston area.
