Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My ex-husband is abusive (physically, verbally, emotionally) toward our son, but has never left any physical evidence. The extent of the violence is escalating as my son gets older (now 14). The latest incident he reported to me was that his dad put him in a choke hold, held him down on a bed, and hit and punched him in the face. He says he has also done this choke hold maneuver up against a wall. Again, though, no marks. I reported it to CPS, but I'm afraid it won't be resolved before the next visitation period.

I have no intention of sending him to his dad's this week. Of course, this will cause a conflict. Should I file a police report? A protective order? Do I need an attorney?

Thank you for your advice.

P.S. My son has also shared this information with two medical professionals, who said they would also report it to CPS.

I would hire an attorney immediately.

Look on this website and on www.avvo.com for an attorney.

Good luck!
