Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I'm expecting a little boy in May 2016. His father was abusive towards me. What can I do to keep him away?

Call the police, report the violence, and see if you can get them to refer the case to the DA for criminal prosecution.

If that doesn't work, then file a motion for a protective order IF there was violence in the past and you can convince the court there is likely to be violence in the future.
