Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My fianc was just informed that a girl he once slept with is filing for child support for a 1 year old child that she is claiming is his. My fianc demanded a paternity test and now we are waiting to hear from the court for the subpoena for the test. She lives in Texas and filed there and my fiance and I live in California. She submitted the child's DNA for testing yesterday. How long can it take for my fianc to be subpoenaed for testing? How long after the subpoena is received will it take to get the results?

I highly recommend that your fiance retain the services of an experienced family law attorney in the county where this case is pending.

He needs to protect himself.

Look on this website & on www.avvo.com for an attorney.

You can also contact me directly at [email protected] and I'll see if I can help you.

I don't know what county this case is in.

If not done properly, he could be declared to be the father & he will be ordered to pay child support. So it's worth the money to make sure that everything is done properly!
