Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My husband is representing himself and would like a lawyer to just steer him in the right direction in what papers to file etc. Are there any lawyers willing to do that for a few hours of their time for an hourly rate? He needs to file an appeal and doesn't know where to start. Thanks.

1 Answer from Attorneys

Many attorneys will offer advice on an hourly rate but an appeal is one area where you may find attorneys unwilling to offer that kind of advice because appeals are extremely technical and it would be very easy to misunderstand the advice or fail to give enough information to obtain the right kind of advice. Appeals are so technical that many attorneys do not even handle their own appeals and will hire separate counsel for an appeal. I would strongly suggest your husband consider hiring an attorney to do more in depth work with him than a few hours.
